Slovenian ski jumper Timotej Jeglič suffered a broken lumbar vertebra, a broken finger and abrasions after this nasty crash at the Planica Nordic Centre but it could have been far worse. Jeglič lost control mid-flight and spun an off axis front flipping rotation before landing on his side and skidding on his face. Just when you think he is in the clear, one of his skis comes charging on a collision course from behind and miraculously laces between his body and his outstretched arm by the smallest of margins. Jeglič was taken to a local hospital for examination and since been released.
