We’ve all played that game where you roll a snowball down a fresh slope and see how big it gets before it comes to rest. My personal best might be the size of a grapefruit but the Utah Avalanche Center just posted this picture from the Park City Ridgeline and mother nature got me beat by a mile. Didn’t know they had a technical classification but the experts at UAC are going with “rollerball.” They point out that while this snow formation may be cute, being buried in an avalanche filled with thousands of them is terrifying:

“Wet avalanches remain your primary concern for today. This rollerball from the PC ridgeline may look cute but wet debris piles are the real deal. Imagine being buried under thousands of these.” – UAC
