Utah- The Utah backcountry has seen some crazy human-triggered avalanches this season. Over the weekend, another slide nearly captured a skier.

On Saturday, a few friends went to ski on Dutches Draw/Conehead, located on the Park City ridgeline. In a video from Michael Fischer, two skiers got some quality powder turns thanks to the new snow. However, the third skier triggered a soft slab avalanche. Luckily, he was able to escape by cutting to the right. The slide was 2.5 feet deep and 50 feet wide. As of February 19th, the avalanche danger ratings in northern Utah are considerate, but new snow this week could make it more risky to venture out of bounds.
