Troopers responded to the resort at approximately 2:55 p.m., assisting Malone EMS upon arrival. Preliminary findings reveal that 68-year-old Richard Finch, a resident of Malone and a dedicated employee at Titus Mountain, was involved in an “unintentional accident” while on ski patrol, specifically related to the chairlift operations.

Unfortunately, Finch was pronounced dead at the scene. As of Saturday evening, the investigation by state police into the exact circumstances of the incident is ongoing.
