“Conditions were firm, chalky, and low tide.” –Sage Cattabriga-Alosa
If you like getting an early start to the ski season, variable conditions are part of the territory. While most skiers would take a mellow approach after seeing a lift line whiteboard stating there’s rocks, roots, and branches in the terrain and to ski with caution as snow sharks are about you, if you Sage Cattabriga-Alosa normal rules don’t apply. Perhaps “SUCK” isn’t the perfect way to describe the mid-December conditions at Alta, we can certainly agree they were less than ideal. That didn’t stop Sage and Henry Zakowski from getting after it in a serious way:
Conditions were firm, chalky, and low tide but Alta had the best skiing in the whole country at the time. While skiing around with the Atomic crew, Henry tracked us down and joined the fun. After a few laps I realized I had to get an episode with him, as despite the conditions, he was sending. Henry is a local freeride coach and absolute ripper.
We did two laps down Race course, then a couple down the Eagles nest trees. Thanks to Atomic and Alta for having me out!”
