When you pass through West Ossipee on New Hampshire Route 16, you see something peculiar: a lift tower next to a McDonald’s sign. This gondola once brought passengers up to Whittier, a famous ski area that was undone by not having snowmaking, among other factors.

YouTuber Avery Zucco just released a video exploration of the remnants of Whittier. Avery’s video showcases the old lifts, buildings, and trails. It shows how much the trails have grown in since the ski resort’s closure in the 1980s. The main slope hosted an adventure park in the 2000s, but that too closed down.

Recently, this property went back on the market. Click here for more information on that.
