Few ski areas define affordability quite like Michigan’s Mount Bohemia. While some ski areas are charging up to $3,000 for just a season’s worth of skiing, the Upper Peninsula ski resort has been offering a $99 season pass sale since 2003. Its literally the lowest priced season pass in all of North America!
From November 22 to December 2 of this year, skiers and snowboarders can pick up a Sunday-Friday pass for just $99 or a full, every-day-of-the-week pass for just $109. Each of those passes come with a 1-year Nordic Spa Pass for the 2023/24 winter, summer and fall. Remember folks, that $99 season pass pays for itself in just two days on the mountain as the daily pass at Bohemia is now $92 a day.
So how are they keeping things cheap? Hugely reducing overhead costs, of course. Every inch of snow that you ride at Mount Bohemia is natural and grooming is non-existent. That doesn’t mean there won’t be snow, though. Sitting on the Upper Peninsula means the mountain expects over 270″ of snow annually, bringing great conditions to the extreme ski resort.
Another way Bohemia is able to keep its overhead dramatically lower than its competitors is the fact that it has no in house accounting dept. Bohemia farms out its payroll processing to a third party, keeps its supplier list extremely low so that the owner is able to then pay all bills thru an app on his phone .
Mount Bohemia season pass holders also get enjoy up to 46 days at partner resorts ranging from midwest ski areas to some of the coolest non commercialized western ski areas in places like Idaho, Wyoming, and Montana.
Pass holders also get a 20% discount on their bill at the Border Grill in Houghton, Michigan, from December 15th to the last day of the season. With the restaurant about a 45 minute drive from the mountain, it would make for a great après ski meal to end the day.
Additional pass options include the $172 two year season pass that rolls over to the next season if you fail to use it, and the $1,299 lifetime pass that’s good for 75 seasons for the buyer. You heard that correctly, a lifetime season pass for cheaper than many single season passes you can find across the country. Absolutely insane.
You must purchase a season pass between November 22 and December 2 to gain access to the deal price, so set your alarms! This pass is definitely the one of the best value buys in North America and possibly the entire world.
