Next year, Ski Santa Fe will be adding its first high-speed chairlift.

Last week, the New Mexico ski resort announced that they will be replacing Chair 1 during the 2024 offseason. The 1988 fixed-grip quad will be replaced by a high-speed detachable quad chairlift. The Super Chief Quad is a pretty slow ride at the moment, with a ride time of ten minutes. The new Santa Fe Express chairlift will have a swift ride time of around four minutes. The new chairlift will have the same capacity per hour as its predecessor: 2000. The top and bottom terminals will be around the same location. The new loading and unloading ramps will make it easier for beginners to not crash and engage in a yard sale compared to its predecessor.

Work on the project will begin in April of next year, with an expected completion date of November 2024.
