Yesterday, Nakiska announced that they’ll be opening on Saturday and Sunday for a preview weekend. This early opening is thanks to cold temperatures and a decent amount of snowfall over the past couple of weeks.
In terms of available terrain, they said that intermediate and expert runs will be open to the public. Here are the details from their snow report:
It’s official! The day we’ve been waiting all summer for is here. We’re opening up for our first preview weekend this Saturday and Sunday, 4th-5th November. The hill is starting to look well frosted with snow and ready for you to make some fresh tracks.
Only intermediate/expert terrain will be available. You can find all the details about what lifts and runs will be open and the opening times for our Food & Beverage, Retail, Ticketing, and Guest Services below.

Details for preview weekend – November 4 & 5
Lifts: Skiing and riding will be on the upper mountain only, with up and downloading from the Olympic Chair to and from mid-mountain.
– Olympic (upload and download): 10:00AM – 5:00PM with last upload 2:00PM
– Gold Chair: 10:00AM – 3:30PM
Food and Beverage:
– Mid Mountain: full service 10:00AM – 4:00PM (lodge will be open until all people downloaded)
– Daylodge Slopeside: extended service 9:00AM – 5:00PM
Guest Services: 8:00AM – 4:30PM
Ticketing: 9:30AM – 1:00PM
Retail: 9:00AM – 4:00PM
Runs (Intermediate and expert terrain only):
– Groomed Runs: Upper Mapmaker, Middle Mapmaker, Mid Mountain, Olympic Easy Way, Amphitheatre, Morley Flats, Gold Road.
– Natural Snow Terrain: Upper, Middle, Lower, and New Glades, Walking Buffalo (Early season conditions, Natural hazards exist)
– Big Bear Run: TBD
Their schedule after this Sunday has yet to be announced, with their official opening date scheduled for November 24th.
