One of the best big mountain skiers on the planet right now just released his highlights reel from the 2022-23 season.
We share Owen Leeper’s videos often here on Unofficial Networks because he takes on some of the gnarliest lines you will ever see on the internet. Based in Jackson Hole, some of his highlights over the years include wall riding the S&S Couloir, sending a ninety-foot cliff, and his 3 Ski Chutes That You Could Die Skiing series.
This week, Owen released his edit from the 2022-23 season. While a shoulder injury from an avalanche partially derailed his season, and significant snowfall led to few days where they could get to terrain above treeline, Owen still got in some mind-blowing turns in.
Cheers to Owen for his continued pursuit of the gnarliest terrain, and we look forward to seeing what chutes, couloirs, and cliffs he takes on next.
Video Description: “2023 was a huge winter in Jackson Hole, we skied powder more days than I could count, it was amazing. These are some of my favorite lines skiing in the backcountry of Jackson Hole. With all the snow, it made it hard to ski above treeline, but on the few days we did, it was awesome.
In early February I was caught in an avalanche and dislocated my shoulder. I was lucky enough to only take a few weeks off doing physical therapy, and was able to finish the season. The doctor said that if I were to crash on my arm, I would likely need surgery right away and my season would be over. So the remainder of the winter was mellow for me, with no huge cliffs to jump off, but still managed to ski a bunch of fun lines.
