It’s once again time for one of the things that ski bums love most: winter forecasts that typically aren’t accurate.
Accuweather was the latest news outlet to join the party, projecting what parts of the United States will see above and below-average snowfall. Accuweather’s snow forecast lists some pivotal ski zones with above-average snowfall, including Northern New England, Utah, California, Arizona, New Mexico, and Colorado. They are predicting below-average snowfall in the Northwest, Idaho, and across the Midwest.
If you’re wondering how Accuweather did last winter: they got some areas right, with an especially on-target prediction of strong second-half snowstorms for the Northeast. On the other hand, they also predicted that California’s ski season would be poor, which was a tad bit inaccurate! It should be noted that this was their ski forecast, while the one they just released was their snow forecast.
