It’s time to add Whitewater Ski Resort to your bucket list. Thanks to its remote location and forty feet of dry snowfall each season, it has become a powder mecca in Canada. This offseason, some of the biggest projects in Canada are happening at Whitewater. Here’s a breakdown of what’s coming to the British Columbian Ski Resort:

New Silver King Chairlfit: The Raven / Yutlxʷ / Qukin chair is a fixed-grip quad chairlift from Leitner-Poma and can carry 1600 uphill guests per hour. The difference between its predecessor is that the new chairlift will travel 163 meters/ around 535 feet further up the mountain, concluding at the summit of Silver King Ridge. This means that they’re going to get a…[drumroll please]… terrain expansion! This new chairlift will allow Whitewater to add 123 acres of skiable terrain, most of which is of advanced difficulty. Fourteen steep and deep trails and glades have been added to Silver King, meaning there’s even more potential for face shots.

Here’s the old map for comparison:

Humminbird Lodge & Campground: Over the summer, Whitewater entered the slopeside lodging business. The lodge itself features two-bedroom suites, which include a kitchen, common room, and a deck. I’m super impressed with the design choices in the suites, especially the bunk beds.

The Hummingbird Lodge & Campground also includes options for RVS. Currently, they have 6 Serviced RV Sites with 30-amp electrical hookups and 4 RV Sites without any hookups. In addition, there are fifteen campsites during the offseason. The Lodge and RV sites are open year-round, and they’re currently accepting reservations for the 2023-24 season.

RFID: As many other ski resorts are doing these days, Whitewater recently added RFID cards. This upcoming season, Whitewater has expanded the RFID cards to include all of its ticket products. Last year’s passes can be reloaded to this upcoming winter, and purchases like food, lessons, and retail products can now be made on the cards.
