Visiting Iceland is a bucket list destination for many, and this video from a rising YouTube traveler shows why.
YouTuber Ryan Shirley recently showed his top ten favorite places he visited in Iceland. His drone footage captures why The Land of Fire and Ice is such a special place.
His picks included the Icelandic Highlands, Reykjadalur Hot Spring River, Thórsmörk, Seljalandsfoss, Southern Iceland (Skógafoss, Reynisfjara, Fjaðrárgljúfur), Glaciers of Iceland (Svínafellsjökull & Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon), Stokksnes, Eastern Iceland (Hengifoss, Seyðisfjörður, Stuðlagil), Northern Iceland (Dettifoss, Lake Mývatn, Eyjafjörður), and Snæfellsnes Peninsula (Kirkjufell, Bjarnarfoss, Arnarstapi). It’s interesting to see that Blue Lagoon didn’t make his list, although it’s definitely a pretty crowded place.
Some of the core takeaways that I have from the video are to get an AWD vehicle, bring some heavy-duty shoes/boots, be aware of the potential road hazards of where you’re traveling, be wary of where you’re standing, and leave no trace.
