I’d argue that the biggest lift project going on this offseason in Utah is the new Demoisy Express chairlift over at Snowbasin Resort (close second being the Crest6 at Brighton). The Strawberry Express Gondola frequently features long lift lines due to there being only one lift that gets out of the terrain pod. With the Demoisy Express, the uphill capacity in this area will be doubled.

The base terminal will be situated near the beginning of the current Strawberry Express Gondola. The detachable high-speed six-pack chairlift, which is being supplied by Leitner-Poma, will have a ride time of 10 minutes. The top terminal will be below Demoisy Peak and above Dan’s Run, giving it wind protection. They will also be adding a new intermediate trail that’s located right next to the top terminal.

So far, some of the work that’s been done includes completing the clearing of the lift line, and tower holes being excavated. The video update from this week showed cement being poured into the foundations of the future lift towers.

The new chairlift is expected to be completed before the start of the 2023-24 season.
