The South American ski season has officially begun. On Friday, Cerro Castor in Argentina opened for the season.

The runs that are currently fully open include Los Ñires, Carpintero, Lobitos, and Bandurrias. Some trails are partially open, which include Piedra Negra, Las Rocas, Senda Guanaco, Castores, Cóndor 3, and Cauquenes. These runs are currently being serviced by the Telesilla del Bosque, Telesilla del Parque, along with the Magic Carpet 1 and 2 lifts.

More ski resorts in South America will open in the coming weeks. Valle Nevado will be opening on June 28th, Ski Portillo is expected to open on July 1st, and Las Leñas is planning to open on July 8th.
