While the snow is almost gone in the Midwest, there’s still enough for one Minnesota ski resort to host a rail jam this weekend.

Wild Mountain will be reopening the Main Stage Terrain Park on Saturday for a rail jam. The Leftovers Spring Jam, which will take place from 11 am-3 pm, will cost $15 to participate in. Red Bull will be at the event and Wild Mountain will bring the Lake House food trailer up to the snow patch for those who want some grub. You can purchase tickets for the event here.

This is going to be a busy offseason for Wild Mountain. They’re working on building a new entrance plaza and arrival zone, along with repainting the exterior of the base lodge. For summer activities, they’re beginning construction on an action pool for their waterpark. This pool, which will feature basketball hoops, a lilypad crossing, and water spraying jets, will open in the summer of 2024.

In addition, they’ll be adding a new SkyTrac chairlift. The fixed-grip quad chairlift will be replacing Chair 3, which opened back in 1972. It will run parallel to Chair 2.

This past weekend, Matthew Zabransky of Midwest Skiers went to Wild Mountain to check out the snow harvesting process. You can watch their vlog below.
