Copper Mountain Resort has announced their largest single year resort investment in more than a decade, with upgrades including a new mid-mountain lodge, facilities, vehicles, and more.

The mountain’s new 25,000-square-foot mid-mountain lodge will feature two stories and a gondola unloading point. The building, set to be called The Aerie, will include a full-service restaurant, bar, private event spaces, and more, all located just at the top of the American Eagle lift.

Summer improvements include upgrades to the mountain’s existing biking and hiking trails, and construction is set to continue on the planned 22 miles of mountain bike trails designed for a variety of rider abilities. Lift-served bike trails will be available off of Woodward Express this summer and American Eagle during the summer of 2024. The Copper Creek Gold Course is set to expand from 9-holes to 14-holes over the summer, with an eventual plan to hit a full 18 in the summer of 2024.

Snowmaking infrastructure is set to receive a major upgrade across the mountain, and five new snowcats will be joining the current fleet. Several trail upgrades, including glading and widenings, will take place as well. Those driving to the mountain will be bale to enjoy an upgraded parking experience, as the resort is planning to expand their Far East lot and add two new busses to their COBUS fleet. 30 EV charging stations are also set to be installed in the Alpine Lot.

Other upgrades across the resort include a new childcare facility with the ability to provide over 45 childcare spots to those who live and work in the village and a heated sidewalk expansion. The discussion of lift-upgrades is also in play, though nothing will begin earlier than summer 2024.

Copper Mountain’s final ski day of the season is this Sunday, May 7, so if you want to make it to the “athlete’s mountain” before these upgrades begin, you better act fast.
