With just under 55 feet of snow for the season, Mammoth Mountain just made a pretty remarkable announcement…they plan to keep chairlifts spinning “AT LEAST the end of July.” While the first day of Spring has come and gone, there are literally months left of skiing at Mammoth. Hell yeah:
“It’s been a historic season here at Mammoth and it looks like we’re just one storm away from breaking the all-time record of 668” of total season snowfall. We are stoked to announce that we will be open daily for skiing and riding until AT LEAST the end of July. As always, we do not have a closing date set, but will plan to stay open as long as conditions allow. Sitting on one of the deepest base depths ever recorded at Main Lodge, it’s going to be some of the best spring skiing and riding we’ve ever seen.
There are a number of questions about Canyon and Eagle which are currently set to close at the end of day on 4/16. Construction on the replacement for Canyon Express (Chair 16) starts immediately on 4/17, but we plan to keep Canyon Lodge lift and terrain connections open on Friday through Sunday through at least the end of April. We will have more details on specific lifts and terrain as we get a bit closer. Eagle Lodge will still close for the season on 4/16.
Team MMSA has done truly heroic work this season through some of the toughest conditions we’ve ever experienced – thank you for all that you do.
There is going to be no better place than Mammoth to get in months of spring and summer turns – we can’t wait to see you on the hill for some fun!”
