“It’s a safe, affluent community, and in winter, it’s closer to the skiing. Even if it’s not ‘ski-in, ski-out,’ it’s a five-minute walk.”- Alitza Vagenknechtova, Listing Agent for Sotheby’s International Realty

There are not as many mountain town mansions that are quite like 165 Forest Road in Vail, Colorado. But does the lack of acreage, along with not being slopeside, make this Vail home worth the listing price?

Back on March 10th, SFGate interviewed Listing Agent Alittza Vagenknechtova, who shared some details about this crib. The five-bedroom, seven-and-a-half bathroom property is listed at $39,990,000. According to Zillow, it’s the most expensive home that’s currently for sale in Vail, Colorado.

Some of the major amenities include a suspended glass bottom pool, an indoor spa with a waterfall, an elevator with a glass ceiling, 6,500+ square feet of outdoor heated decks, and a roof deck.

For me, the flaws of the home are that it’s only on a half-acre lot, and it’s not slopeside. Some rich people may jump at having a home with a stunning interior and views like this, but its lack of outdoor space means that there’s not much room for activities. I do really like the pool and spa though.
