Curry Village tent cabins about half buried in snow with additional snow on the roofs

California is currently buried by a major winter storm that dumped feet of snow from the Sierras to the mountains outside of Los Angeles.

As a result, Yosemite National Park announced yesterday evening that the park is CLOSED until further notice.

Here’s their full statement:

“Yosemite has experienced significant snowfall in all areas of the park, with snow up to 15 feet deep in some areas and the park’s closure on Feb. 25. Park crews are working to restore critical services so visitors can safely return. There is no estimated date for reopening.”

Yosemite Falls shuttle stop shelter with piles of snow surrounding it and significant snow on the roof.
