Work is necessary to survive, but so is skiing…

Shelby Jeanne, a 28-year-old skier from Moab, UT, has gone viral on TikTok for the hilarious video below.

Watch as she gets a call from her manager at Moab Brewery wondering why she hasn’t shown up for her shift:

Shelby raced down the mountain and beelined for work. She was late, but she didn’t miss the entirety of her shift.

She told Newsweek that she was only two hours late:

“I panicked and started calling as many of my coworkers as I could to see if they could cover my shift. No one was available. It took 1.5 more hours to get down the mountain, change, grab my work things and make it into the restaurant. I was scheduled for 3:30 p.m. It was 4 p.m. when I received that call. I arrived at 5:30 p.m. and clocked in to start working.”

We’ve all been there, right?

The snow is stacking up, you start making plans with friends, you get your gear out, you pack a bunch of snacks, you wake up early the next morning, you head out to go skiing, you take a few glorious laps, and then you suddenly realize that you completely blew off a major commitment.

Who can fault Shelby for not checking the schedule? That snow in Southern Utah looks awesome!

According to Newsweek, Shelby was written up by the manager at Moab Brewery, but she was understanding:

“They were disappointed that I was late, but found the situation very comical. They were proud of me for not leaving them hanging and dropping what I was doing to show up for my shift.”

Kudos to Moab Brewery for being cool about the whole situation!
