On February 25th, a Vermonter will try to ski thru the entire length of his home state. WCAX reports that Bill Burrell will ski the Catamount Ski Trail, which goes from the Vermont-Massachusetts border to the Vermont-Canadian border. Bill estimates that the 317-mile trek will take 18 days, and a total elevation of 35,000 feet.

The purpose of the trip is to raise concern over climate change, as the minimal snowpack in Vermont has been a monumental concern over the past couple of winters.

Bill broke down the rules for his expedition to WCAX:

“I’m allowed to stop, obviously, and I can beg for rides if I need to, go into a town and gather supplies or dry out my gear or something like that, but I’m not allowed to see any friends, or press actually along the way.”

While the snowpack is currently extremely minimal, Bill will likely be getting some help this week. Some snow is expected to fall today, and significant snowfall is predicted throughout Vermont on Thursday and Friday.
