Groundhog Day is a… unique holiday. A crowd gathers in Punxsutawney, PA, to see the legendary Punxsutawney Phil emerge from his burrow and make a winter weather prediction (he saw his shadow this year, so we get more winter! YEEEEEW). Then there are towns that choose to host their own groundhog, like ‘Woodstock Willie’ in the Chicago area, Massachusetts’ ‘Mr. G’, and the terrifying ‘Las Vegas Larry’. This year, Boulder, Colorado had two animals emerge from their burrows. There’s the stuffed ‘Flatiron Freddy’, and this raccoon, who was removed from his hideout in a local business by the Boulder Police Department.

I feel kinda bad for this guy. He was probably just enjoying his home when his abusive landlord decided to evict him! What about tenant rights?! What about squatters rights!? Someone needs to tell that poor raccoon to lawyer up!

In reality, this poor guy was probably scared for his life and, despite this chase being absolutely hilarious, hopefully he’s off in the woods somewhere by now, enjoying the peace of wilderness isolation.
