A large avalanche was triggered on Ajax Peak near Telluride, CO that sent a billowing cloud of snow and debris lingering over the town.

An observer captured the video below while driving down Main Street.

The video was shared by Colorado Avalanche Information Center to warn about the dangerous snow conditions across the state:

An observer in Telluride captured this video showing the lingering powder cloud from a very large avalanche that hit the valley floor off Ajax Mountain around sunset on New Year’s Eve.
