New England saw some wild weather this past Friday, as rain, snow, and heavy winds caused many ski resorts to remain closed for the day.

One of the ski resorts that was most affected by this was Waterville Valley Resort in New Hampshire. Heavy winds damaged the top terminal of the new Tecumseh Express, as multiple panels on the top terminal blew away. One of the glass panels hit the glass on the lift shack, breaking it. Luckily, the damage was simply cosmetic, and the Tecumseh Express has since reopened.

The Tecumseh Express had its grand opening on December 10th but has had to deal with mechanical issues throughout its opening weeks. Its top terminal is a hot spot for wind, so it’s not the most straightforward place to keep a new lift operational, especially with how wacky the season has been so far for New England. Let’s hope that New England sees some snowier weather in the near future.
