The goal was simple…to get people on the snow more. That’s quite a large undertaking given the number of components that can go into a ski day. There’s connecting with your buddies, getting to the mountain, parking, the weather, food and beverage, lessons and more that you have to contend with on any given day. Not to mention that skiers’ and snowboarders’ needs differ greatly from the resorts’ needs and those of the local businesses. You would be hard-pressed to think that with this many factors at play there could be one way to unite them all.

That is until now. The newly released CommuniSki app aims to be a one-stop shop for all of your mountain needs while getting more people on the mountain and enjoying everything that goes with it.

Multiple Ski Apps All Rolled Into One

There are a lot of great ski apps out there. Open Snow, Ski Tracks, Carv are the first that come to mind. However, each one has a very specific focus and you would really need to download them all if you want to keep track of the weather, your runs and even tips on how you are skiing. Unlike these aforementioned apps, CommuniSki is not specific to one skiing or snowboarding niche but rather all-encompassing.

Ski Resorts Get Updated in Real Time

On the resort side of the app, each specific resort has control of their pages. From there, they can brand their page to match resort colors while updating lift and run status in real time. They can even sell their own products like lift tickets and lessons. Ultimately, this allows each resort to provide an amazing guest experience without having to maintain or pay for their own app.

Sounds like a pretty sweet deal, but what about resorts that aren’t yet on the platform? Not a problem. Community users are encouraged to contribute to the app thereby keeping those resorts updated until they too decide to jump on the CommuniSki gondola.

Not Just for Resorts but Local Businesses Too

CommuniSki also has a dedicated space for local businesses. This includes but is not limited to restaurants, hotels, gear shops, excursion planners and more. By including local businesses it gives them access to the same platform as resorts while allowing them the opportunity to market to a concentrated group of skiers and snowboarders.

The upside for a business could become tremendous.  As more and more skiers and riders use the app they will have one single marketplace to discover products and services while comparing prices and purchasing through the CommuniSki platform.

Never Ski or Après Ski Alone

“The only thing that really matters is how much fun you’re having, and for me, and millions of others, there is nothing more fun than charging through the fluffy white stuff. I created CommuniSki to help more people get on the snow, more often, and have more fun while they’re there!,” said founder and CEO Charlie Walker.

And, what is more fun than skiing with others? Use the GPS tracking to find your buddies or meet up with new friends. Not feeling confident in the group’s abilities? The “Lesson Share” function allows you to create a private lesson suited to your needs and split the cost. Then, at the end of the day, hop onto the business side and connect with one of the local restaurants to curate an après ski beer or wine tasting. The sky’s the limit.

How to Download CommuniSki

With all of this information from resorts and local businesses in one app, downloading CommuniSki seems like a no brainer. Nothing against all the other ski apps. As I mentioned before, they are all great, but the beauty of CommuniSki is that the majority of what you will want or need as a skier or snowboarder is now all in one place.

The app’s extensive functionality includes a resort database, business listings, 16 day weather, GPS tracking (with live buddy locations), event listings and more. Having so much information may seem immeasurable and it is. But in the end the sizable nature of CommuniSki all goes back to one simple goal, to get people on the snow more.

CommuniSki is available on IOS and Android platforms and can be downloaded for FREE.
