All respect given to American fashion designer Virgil Abloh who was an avid snowboarder and served as Louis Vuitton’s menswear artistic director before his tragic death in November 2021 but this snowboard released by LV in his name posthumously is preposterous.

First of all, if you look closely at the images, they seem to be renderings (not well done either) rather than actual product photos leading me to believe they might pressing these as orders come in? At $7,450 a pop and limited run of 100 boards LV stands to make $750,000 if they sell out. Its a drop in the bucket for the multibillion dollar fashion giant but thats the enough to keep an multiple indy companies afloat for the year.

Again, all respect to Virgil but these are kinda whack:

“The Marble snowboard is a limited-edition piece designed by Virgil Abloh, with only 100 numbered items made. Featuring a classic camber and a progressive tip, the snowboard is well-suited for both carving and riding in deep powder. The pattern nods to the marble stage from the Men’s Fall-Winter 2021 fashion show and is emblazoned with fluorescent LV Initials.”
