You might be thinking this is some kinda spoof video and the whole bouldering in a tweed blazer doesn’t exactly add creditability to the situation but climber Johnny Dawes isn’t kidding around with his less limbs technique. Also known as “The Hip Kiss Special”, the no hands climbing style originated while filming a review of the Scarpa Chimera shoe. To demonstrate the shoes’ grip, he let his hands go and the rest is history. Looks funny but excellent practice for any climber looking to improve their foot placement. Give a try if conditions are safe for falling.

Here’s Johnny attempting a “hands free walk up” on a classic route in the UK called Chalkstorm.  It’s pretty wild.
