Wachusett Mountain in Princeton, Massachusetts, has one of the best snowmaking and grooming systems in the Northeast, and it shows with its consistent early openings and April closing dates. Chris Stimpson from Wachusett gave a video opening day announcement, which featured the classic English fans celebrating meme.

Wachusett moved up their opening date from Friday, November 25th to today. Wachusett has the following trails open: Ollie’s, Ralph’s Run, Challenger, Conifer Connection, and Indian Summer. Four lifts are open, including the Polar Express Quad, Minuteman Express Quad, Monadnock Express Quad, and Ollie’s Carpet. They’re also aiming to get a few terrain park features set up. They’ll be closed on Thursday, but will reopen on Friday at 9 a.m. for daily operations.

He also did a penguin dive down one of the snowmaking whales to conclude the video, which made me ask myself: why can’t I be this cool?

They won’t be the only Massachusetts ski resort to open for the season this week. So far, Bousquet and Jiminy Peak have announced that they’ll be opening on Friday. It’s great to see everyone in New England opening up so early, as I’m hopeful that it will be a great season.
