Mammoth Mountain, CA is in the direct path of a major snow storm sweeping across the American west.

It’s already snowed 15-20 inches since yesterday morning, and forecasters are calling for an additional 30-45 inches to fall throughout the remainder of the week.

Mammoth just opened for the season on Saturday, November 6th, and conditions are already shaping up to be absolutely fantastic.

Here’s the conditions report at Mammoth as of 1:45 PM ET on 11/8/22:

New Snow: 15-20″

Base Depth Range: 18-30″

Conditions: Powder

Trails Open: 10/175

Lifts Open: 3/25

Today’s Forecast: “Snow showers. The snow could be heavy at times. Some thunder is also possible. Temperature falling to around 16 by 4pm. Wind chill values as low as -3. Windy, with a south southwest wind 30 to 35 mph decreasing to 25 to 30 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 65 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. Total daytime snow accumulation of 25 to 31 inches possible.”
