Loveland Ski Area, CO was hoping to make a big push in order to open for the season this week, but sadly, there’s still too much work to be done.

Here’s the official statement from Loveland:

“Another 6” of snow fell on Loveland Ski Area today. Loveland has received 16” in the past week. The snowguns are going and the snowcats are pushing snow. Unfortunately, we still have more snow to make on the bottom section of Homerun and at the base area of Chet’s Dream. Loveland Ski Area will not open this week. Loveland is very optimistic that we’ll open sometime next week.”

Pushing opening day to next week is certainly a bummer for the Loveland faithful as neighbors Arapahoe Basin opened this past Sunday and Keystone opens today (10/28/22).

With that said, opening the first week of November will still make for a long season. How does that old saying go…?

“Good things come to those who wait.”
