Here’s a fascinating trip down memory lane from National Park Diaries, which is one of the best accounts on Youtube for National Park history and analysis. Yesterday, he covered the construction process of the iconic road in Rocky Mountain National Park. Work on the road began in 1926 and it was opened in 1932. The Trail Ridge Road is the highest continuously paved road in the United States. The video, which is down below, discusses why they built the road, and what it took to get the route open to the general public.
