Apparently the Finnish tradition of competitive wife carrying is alive and well stateside as couples from across the country travelled to Sunday River Resort in Maine for the 23rd Annual North American Wife Carrying Championship. The 278-yard obstacle course included hurdles, a mud pit and sand hill climb. Congratulations to Caleb and Justine Roesler of Team Silly Sconnies from Waukesha, Wisconsin who won the wife’s weight in beer and five times her weight in cash.
