Close your eyes. Breathe in through your nose, out through your mouth.
Picture a crisp fall day at 10,500 ft.+ high up in the Rocky Mountains. The leaves are still changing, but there’s a sound you can hear in the distance. It’s a gentle but might roar that echoes through the valley and sends a cloud of white smoke into the air.
Snow guns. They’re firing loud and proud, and Arapahoe Basin (Colorado) is preparing to be the first ski resort open in North America. It’s October, and Winter. Is. Coming.
It won’t be long before that becomes a reality, but were you able to picture that? I’d be kind of impressed considering I said to close your eyes and read at the same time. But, hey, what do I know?
I’ll tell ya what I do know- Arapahoe Basin Ski Area tested their snow guns over the weekend, and it has me absolutely stoked for the coming season. It won’t be long before the guns are cranking full blast on High Noon.
It can’t come soon enough!
