The resort announced today that they’re partnering with the River Fund Maine to provide free season passes to children who meet certain economic qualifiers.
Essentially, the Sunday River is giving season passes to children of families that most likely couldn’t afford it, and if you ask me, that’s pretty dang awesome.

Sunday River, in Partnership with the River Fund Maine, Announces Free Season Pass Program for Local Kids
Maine ski resort teaming up with local non-profits to offer season passes to qualifying local students
NEWRY, MAINE (September 12, 2022)—The River Fund Maine, a 501(c)3 non-profit in the Sunday River region, announced today a new season pass scholarship program for local area students in collaboration with Sunday River Resort and the Sunday River Ski & Snowboard Club.
Students in MSAD 44, MSAD 17, and RSU 10 can apply for the Community Access Pass through an application on the River Fund’s website. Students must meet certain economic qualifiers to apply; further details about the criteria are available on the pass application. Students have until November 15 to apply for the program.
This pass will offer daily access to Sunday River slopes and comes with a complimentary membership to the Sunday River Ski and Snowboard Club, another local 501(c)3 non-profit with a primary goal of providing financial and human resources support to local competitive athletes, as well as hosting numerous social activities throughout the season.

We’re grateful to be working in partnership with The River Fund and the Ski & Snowboard Club to bring this program to life.”

The River Fund Maine was founded in 2018 with the goal of creating educational and recreational experiences that can change lives. By granting high-impact scholarships, facilitating creative problem-solving workshops, and supporting community outreach projects, TRFM focuses on collaborating as a community to build a bright future for youth. A new initiative of the fund, Maine West Project Play – an Aspen Institute Base Site – aims to increase accessibility to recreation. MWPP provides four seasons of youth programming with a core emphasis of physical literary, sport sampling, and high-quality coaching relationships that give equal weight to social and emotional development.

The primary role of SRSSC is to provide support, both financial and human resources, to improve the overall experience of the athletes engaged in competitive training programs at Sunday River Ski Resort through the Gould Academy Competition Program.
