Ever heard of an echidna (pronounced eh-kid-na)?

The spiky creatures are part of the same egg-laying family of mammals as platypuses. Echidnas are affectionally known as ‘spiny anteaters’ as their diet mostly consists of ants and termites and for the quills covering their backs.

Essentially, they look like a cross between an anteater, a hedgehog, a porcupine, and a mole rat. They’re one of the most unique creatures on planet earth.

A friendly echidna was recorded investigating skiers and snowboarders on the slopes of Thredbo Resort (Australia) recently, and the resort has shared the video for all of us to enjoy.

Check it out below, and answer the question- What’s the weirdest animal you’ve seen while skiing or snowboarding?
