Hawaii is not home to any large species of cat, but a resident of Hawaii’s Big Island is claiming he saw one lurking around his backyard.

He was only able to take a couple of blurry photos from a distance, but the Department of Land and Natural Resources thinks it’s enough evidence to launch an investigation.

There’s probably a lot of wild things that go down in Hawaii, but I can understand why this man was so shocked to see a giant cat crawling around in his backyard.

Hopefully the DLNR can safely relocate this big cat to a zoo or somewhere off-island where it belongs.
