Zephyr Cove, NV is a popular place for beachgoers on Lake Tahoe’s eastern shore, and Tahoe locals are disgusted by how much trash was left after this past weekend’s 4th of July party.

An Instagram post by Active Norcal (@activenorcal) claims that Keep Tahoe Blue (@keeptahoeblue) cleaned up over 3,000 pounds of trash left on five Tahoe beaches including Zephyr Cove.

The image of the bags of trash is startling. A follow up post from Keep Tahoe Blue claims that 2,700 pounds of trash was cleaned up from the Zephyr Shoals area alone.

It’s a damn shame that people have to volunteer to cleanup thousands of pounds of trash left by inconsiderate drunkards. Seeing people litter by the masses triggers rage inside of me so deep that I can’t even put it into words.

Shout out to all of those that volunteered with Keep Tahoe Blue to cleanup the lake. You’re the real MVPs.
