Hoping this mountain lion got the not so subtle message not to hang around a Bailey, Colorado RV Park delivered in the form of a shotgun beanbag round. Colorado Parks and Wildlife officers were called out to the park after a local resident reported that a mountain lion had killed her house cat.
The lion was found bedded down under a bush near a driveway. Officers took what they call “proactive management tactics” and fired on the cat with non-lethal beanbags making solid contact with its midsection while yelling at in hopes to imprint the idea that coming around human habitations is not a winning proposition.
If you look closely under the bush, the lion had made a day bed there below the driveway near the same RV. Wildlife officers reported the lion appeared healthy. Hopefully it doesn’t return. pic.twitter.com/PUf3P8tHYE
