At first, seeing a bear in a full sprint while running away from something is definitely a bit worrisome, but seeing that it’s running away from a moose makes things a little bit easier to understand.

The funniest part of this video is definitely seeing the moose book it past the bear after he dipped away into a corner, it reminds me of a childhood game of hide and seek. Then, seeing the bear standing up, peaking around the corner to see if the moose was coming back had me cackling a good bit.

Though it does almost feel like a game of tag or hide and seek we used to play in the elementary school playground, you have to wonder what that bear did to get on the moose’s hit list.

The bear doesn’t look big enough to mess with a baby moose, and given that it’s a black bear, that seems unlikely no matter the size. Here’s what I think most likely happened:

We all know the story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears, right? Girl breaks into the home of a bear family, eats their soup, sits in their chairs, and sleeps in the beds? Well I would imagine this here black bear had a similar experience to that, except he was goldilocks, and the three bears were replaced by three moose. The bear found the moose’s home, stole their berries, relaxed in the moose chairs, and slept in the moose’s makeshift bed. After finally getting comfortable, the moose family came home to find Mr. Bear asleep in the smallest, just right bed, and Mrs. Moose realized the berries were missing and decided to take matters into her own hooves. Mr. Bear knows he did wrong, but he’s just trying to escape with his life. That’s why he looks so careful about escaping. He knows there’s no argument to be made.
