Ski New Hampshire is reporting a slight drop in skier visits this season due to poor snow conditions during the latter half of the season.

President of Ski New Hampshire, Jessyca Keeler, told WMUR 9 that New Hampshire ski areas saw an uptick in cross-country skiers, but a 3% decrease in alpine skiers, and a 7% decrease in tubing.

She attributes the decrease due to low snowfall and warmer temps in March across the state.

Down seasons due to poor snowfall should encourage ski areas to invest in snowmaking systems.

I wouldn’t be surprised if we hear that some of the larger ski areas/resorts in New Hampshire announce snowmaking upgrades over the next couple of seasons.
