You gotta hand it to the folks over at Killington Resort (Vermont). They intended on staying open into June, and dammit if they didn’t.

Was there one remaining trail riddled with large bare patches, mud, dirt, rocks, and other debris? Well, yeah. But, were they the only ski resort east of the Mississippi River to operate a chairlift in June? You betcha.

The video below shows Evan Schwieger taking a few runs on closing day at Killington, and I personally think it’s a must-watch.

Check it out!

Conditions looked absolutely abysmal, but you wouldn’t know it based solely on the smiles and laughs echoing across the mountain.

Skiing is skiing and these folks were happy to be skiing in Vermont on June 4th. Shit, I wish I could have been there. I’d be fully willing to sacrifice the base integrity of an old pair of skis if it meant I could slide on snow.

I’m sure some of you feel the same way.

You’re reading a blog written by Matt Lorelli on Unofficial Networks after all. You have to be a little bit crazy to keep reading my nonsense after all of these years.
