You’d hope that by the beginning of June, the danger of experiencing an avalanche anywhere in the United States would have decreased a fairly significant amount. Unfortunately, in Colorado, at least, late season snowfalls mixed with weird weather patterns have kept the danger of avalanches alive throughout the state.

Skier Robby Emmons was one of the few unfortunate individuals to experience a late season avalanche, with this incident occurring in the backcountry on June 1st.

Fortunately, Emmons was able to escape the flowing snow.
