Memorial Day is an important time to remember the military men and women who have given their life in service.

I was reminded of this awesome video made by Powder about Phil Quintana who accomplished his goal of skiing from top to bottom at (then) Squaw Valley, now Palisades Tahoe.

Phil lost his leg while serving in Afghanistan in 2005, and his journey to skiing the full vertical at Palisades Tahoe is remarkable. I had goosebumps and chills running through my body throughout the entire video.

It’s amazing that there are organizations willing to help veterans return to society, and continue the activities they love even if they were injured in combat.

Here’s to hoping we see more of Phil’s accomplishments on the slopes.
