Chestnut Mountain Park in Canton, North Carolina, is not just a public park home to a 450-acre mountain property valued at four million dollars. Inside its massive plot includes a 35-acre bike park called “Berm Park”, and being totally free to the public, it looks absolutely awesome. In 2018, the YouTube page formally titled “Seth’s Bike Hack’s” (now titled Berm Peak) began raising money for the free park, and continued maintenance for the park will be funded through their Patreon.

All in all, I say this is an awesome project. It seems like a great way to bring people into the sport of mountain biking, and a great way to keep them hooked. Most of the public mountain biking trails around me are not very well maintained, or just generally not that exciting. Seeing a public but still high quality park definitely brings a smile to my face.
