Not sure if organizers thought people wouldn’t actually make it across or if the orange retaining fence was considered a safety barrier but this skier flying into the crowd looks more like an inevitability rather than an anomaly by my estimate. Guessing they’ll go back to the drawing boards when designing the venue for next spring. Yikes.
