Ski resorts around the United States are being forced to find ways to handle the ever growing crowds and lift lines that have been plaguing the sports. Some mountains just have limited parking. If you don’t make before the parking lot fills, you’re out of luck. Some mountains have decided to become private, like what may be happening with Homewood Mountain Resort. Finally, some resorts have chosen to switch to a paid parking set up.
Stowe, in Vermont, is one of the most recent mountains to announce an expansion in paid parking. Responses from customers have been… fairly negative, but I’m not sure too many people were expecting Magic Mountain to get a bit spicy with their reaction. Shortly after Stowe announced the change, in a short Facebook post, the resort reminded customers how parking works in their lots, specifically targeting Epic pass holders.
“Just a friendly reminder that parking is STILL FREE in Lots A and B next season. However, there may be surcharge for Lot C if you show us your Epic Pass since y’all becoming used to that now.” – Magic Mountain Ski Are
