Boyne Mountain Resort and Mount Bohemia (both located in Michigan) have a long-standing competition to see which ski resort can stay open the longest.

Boyne has won in recent years due to snowmaking and grooming, but has conceded this year’s competition to Boho.

For losing the competition, Boyne is donating $1,000 to a charity of Mount Bohemia’s choice. This year, they will be donating to the Copper Country Humane Society.

It’s pretty impressive that Bohemia was able to outlast a resort that has snowmaking and grooming to preserve the slopes. I guess Boho’s 309 inches of year-to-date snowfall was just too much for Boyne to compete with!

Need proof that there’s still snow? Check it out for yourself. Mount Bohemia just posted the picture below to their Instagram.

It was taken last weekend. Still looks like a lot of fun to me!

Mount Bohemia is planning on staying open weekends-only through the rest of April. Cheers to a great season!

I’m jealous of those of you that are still enjoying turns on snow up there!
