It wasn’t the greatest winter snow-wise for New England skiing, but there were still some great days out on the slopes. Ragged Mountain’s rapidly improving snowmaking system led to solid coverage in spite of New England’s disappointing lack of natural snow. The mountain features groomers with quality pitches like Exhibition, Showboat, and Flying Yankee, a deep network of tree skiing, and some great terrain parks.
To wrap up the season, Ragged Mountain hosted two of its most popular Spring events: the Bump N’ Jump and the Pond Skim. Kyle Matzke of Ragged Mountain told me that both events saw record attendance, and the energy was incredible. On March 26th, they hosted their annual Bump N’ Jump on Exhibition. The mogul run featured traditional spring bumps, a few jumps, and some jibs on the route.
This past Saturday, they hosted a pond skim on Village Green. The skim featured a jump before the pond, leading to some comical landings and wipeouts. Their last day of the season was on Sunday. And now, the focus shifts towards next season, with Kyle telling me that the resort will be working on various projects during the offseason.
Ragged’s season pass deal is among one of the best in all of the ski industry. Up until yesterday, you could purchase a season pass for $379.
