Growing up skiing at Sugarloaf, I’ve been quite aware of Olympic snowboarder Seth Wescott for the majority of my skiing career. A graduate of Carrabassett Valley Academy, co-owner of Winterstick Snowboards, and president of The Rack BBQ, all of which are located in the Sugarloaf community, Wescott is an icon in the area. He brought tons of national attention to snowboardcross by winning 2 Olympic gold medals, one in 2006 and one in 2010. Those two medals are a huge honor on their own, but this weekend, Seth Wescott will be inducted into the U.S. Ski & Snowboard Hall of Fame.

Brian Fair, Holly Flanders, Howard Peterson, Sherman Poppen, and Barbara Alley Simon will join Seth Wescott to be inducted into the Hall of Fame this weekend as a part of the 2020 class of inductees. Kristean Porter, another Sugarloafer, is set to be inducted later this month.
